4 Common Oil Leak Spots From Cars

The oil in the engine should certainly never come out and be maintained in a closed-loop system. Optimally, engine oil does not come out of the engine or burn. The oil should not decrease much during the oil change interval.

However, in aged cars, oil can sometimes leak and soil the parking area. Where are the common locations where oil leaks occur? Forceum will discuss this.

1. Drain Plug

Oil is removed by opening a drain plug. If it is not tight or the nut is not installed, the oil can leak slowly. Pay attention to this plug when tightening.

2. Filters

The oil filter is also usually replaced on every oil change. When installed, make sure that the seals are present and do not stack on each other. Make sure the old seal has been removed before installing the new one. Then, tighten it but do not overdo it to not crush the seal.

3. Oil Pan

The oil pan may leak, usually because the gasket from the oil pan has hardened so that it does not seal tightly. However, it is not as frequent as the two causes above.

4. Rear Main Seal

If the car is very old and the leak is in the rear area of the engine, it is worth suspecting the rear main seal. The problem is, the position is very hidden and the flywheel and clutch must be removed first.

Those are the 4 common spots of oil leakage. To check for leakage of the Forceum tyres used, spray the tyres with soapy water. When there is a bubble, that is where the leak needs to be patched.

Oli pada mesin tentunya sebaiknya tidak pernah keluar dan terjaga dalam suatu sistem yang tertutup. Memang optimalnya, oli mesin tidak keluar dari mesin maupun terbakar. Oli seharusnya tidak berkurang banyak selama interval penggantian oli.

Namun, pada mobil yang sudah berusia, oli terkadang bisa bocor dan mengotori area parkir. Dimana saja lokasi umum terjadinya kebocoran oli? Akan Forceum bahas.

1. Drainase

Oli dikeluarkan dengan membuka sebuah lobang drainase. Jika tidak kencang atau mur tidak terpasang, oli bisa bocor secara perlahan. Perhatikan drainase ini ketika dipasang.

2. Filter

Filter oli juga biasanya dibuka setiap penggantian oli. Ketika dipasang, pastikan sealnya ada dan tidak menumpuk. Pastikan seal lama telah dibuka sebelum memasang yang baru. Kemudian, kencangkan namun jangan berlebihan agar seal tidak rusak.

3. Karter Oli

Karter oli bisa saja mengalami kebocoran, biasanya karena gasket dari karter telah mengeras sehingga tidak menutup dengan rapat. Namun, hal ini tidak sesering kedua penyebab di atas.

4. Seal Kruk As Belakang

Jika mobil sudah sangat berumur dan kebocoran berada pada area belakang mesin, patut mencurigai seal kruk as belakang. Masalahnya, posisinya sangat tersembunyi dimana flywheel dan kopling harus dibuka terlebih dahulu.

Itulah 4 posisi umum terjadinya kebocoran oli. Untuk mengecek kebocoran ban Forceum yang digunakan, semprotlah ban dengan air sabun. Bila ada gelembung, itulah letak kebocoran yang perlu ditambal.
