Don't be surprised! New Cars Today Don't Have to Have a Spare Tire

Don't be surprised. There are actually quite a few modern cars today that come without a spare tire. So what is the reason and why do they still get permission to be launched?

Initially, every car sold must be equipped with a spare tire. This is in accordance with Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation (LLAJ Law), in Article 57 paragraph (3) it is stated that spare tires are part of the mandatory components that must be in the car.

Now, it is no longer mandatory for car manufacturers to include a spare tire, it has been regulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation (Permenhub) of the Republic of Indonesia No. 33 of 2018 concerning Motor Vehicle Type Testing, to be precise Article 14 paragraphs 1 and 2.

In the regulation, it is stated that spare tires can be replaced with Run Flat Tire (RFT) type tires equipped with tire pressure indicators, tire repair kits or other technologies.

Jangan heran.
