Hitting a pothole is always a pain, literally. Doesn’t only does it hurt you due to the harshness, it will actually hurt your car, mainly your tire, wheel, and suspension.

And it gets worse, if you know that you hit the pothole hard, you probably gonna have a bad time checking those components up. Here are some of the components you have to check:

1. Tires

Your tire will experience the most shock from the pothole. If you hit it hard and feel something isn’t right, huge chances are the tire is damaged. Check if it actually blown, or maybe bubbling because of the deformation

2. Rims

After you check your tire, check your rims, are they damaged, cracked, bent? The immense force from the pothole may actually transfer that energy to the rims, especially if you have a lower profile tire because it has less cushion.

3. Suspension

If your wheels and tires are safe, check your suspension, because the force from the impact gotta go somewhere and it may be your suspension. Check the components like shocks, springs, or tie rod. Or you can usually feel them when you drive after hitting the pothole. Does it feel misaligned?

4. Some Miscellaneous Stuff

Check some other stuff, maybe loose parts like underbody, or even the body parts themself. Sometimes, you even gotta check your wiring and battery wires, sometimes the shock will actually move them.

Menghantam lubang pastinya menyakitkan, baik bagi jiwa maupun raga. Hantaman tersebut tidak hanya menyakitkan untuk raga karena goncangannya, tapi juga menyakitkan bagi komponen-komponen mobil terutama ban, velg, dan suspensi.

Apalagi jika lubang tersebut dihantam dengan keras, tentunya hari kamu akan semakin buruk setelah menghantam tersebut karena harus mengecek beberapa komponen dan bersiap mengetahui kondisi komponen tersebut:

1. Ban

Ban bisa dibilang sebagai garda terdepan ketika menghantam lubang di jalan. Jika kamu menabrak lubang dengan keras dan merasakan sesuatu yang aneh, ceklah ban sebagai langkah pertama. Apakah ban mengalami kerusakan seperti robek atau benjol? Bila terjadi, segera ganti dengan ban serep terlebih dahulu.

2. Velg

Setelah ban, cek juga velg. Apakah velg mengalami pecah atau retak? Atau mungkin velg peyang sehingga mobil bergetar hebat. Apalagi jika ban yang digunakan memiliki profil cukup tipis karena redaman yang diberikan pun lebih sedikit.

3. Suspensi

Jika ban dan velg aman, coba cek suspensi. Apakah ada bunyi-bunyi? Apakah mobil rasanya seperti belum di spooring? Cek komponen seperti shock, per, atau mungkin tie rod yang cukup rawan terkena.

4. Komponen Lainnya

Beberapa komponen mobil lainnya sebaiknya juga di cek, misalnya part bodi yang kendor atau bagian kolong mobil. Kabel-kabel di aki bahkan juga bisa kendor karena getarannya.
