After Your Eid Homecoming Trip, Don’t Forget to Check Your Car’s Suspension

After a long Eid homecoming trip, many car owners often overlook one important thing: the condition of their vehicle’s suspension system. In fact, this system acts as the “backbone” that works extra hard during long journeys—from bearing the full load and navigating potholes to maintaining stability on various road surfaces.

A car’s suspension system itself comprises many vital components, such as shock absorbers, springs, ball joints, tie rods, control arm bushings, and the steering system. All these parts work together to ensure the car remains comfortable, stable, and easy to control. Therefore, after being used for the homecoming trip, an inspection is a crucial step before using the car again for daily activities.

It can be said that the trip home often serves as a test of the vehicle’s durability. The car is forced to work harder than usual, so the risk of wear or damage to suspension system components increases. For this reason, a post-trip inspection isn’t just optional—it’s mandatory.

There are several signs that drivers can immediately notice without needing special tools. For example, a rough noise from under the car when driving over rough roads, the steering wheel vibrating at certain speeds, the car feeling unstable, or even tending to pull to one side. Symptoms like these are often early warning signs of suspension system issues.

One component that requires attention is the shock absorber. If it’s worn out, the car typically feels overly bouncy or unstable when driving over speed bumps. Additionally, oil leaks from the shock absorber can indicate damage that needs immediate attention.

On the other hand, the steering system is equally important. Components like tie rods and the steering rack play a major role in maintaining the vehicle’s directional precision. If the steering wheel starts feeling unresponsive or makes strange noises when turning, there may be an issue that requires further inspection.

Finally, don’t overlook wheel alignment and balancing. These two processes are essential for restoring wheel balance and ensuring the car drives straight without vibration. Besides enhancing comfort, this step also helps prevent uneven tire wear.

In other words, after a trip home, it’s not just your body that needs a break—your car does too. A little time spent on inspection can make your vehicle comfortable, safe, and ready to use as usual.

Setelah Mudik, Jangan Lupa Cek Kaki-Kaki Mobil

Kaki-kaki mobil sendiri mencakup banyak komponen vital seperti shock absorber, per, ball joint, tie rod, bushing arm, hingga sistem kemudi.
